Friend

As a little girl I can remember my Daddy asking me how much do you love your Daddy? And he’d put his fingers out as to say just a pinch and then he would extend his long arms as wide as they could go and ask, or do you love me this much? And I would jump in his arms and we’d laugh and laugh. Back then that was the safest place for me, a place of comfort and security and some days I wish I could be that little girl and jump into his arms. We can’t be everything to everyone, and people can’t always be what and where we need them to be. There are times when I expect too much out of people, my expectations are too high and I find myself lost, lonely, disappointed, busted and disgusted but then a light comes on and I remember, that my ultimate, super friend awaits, the one who sticks closer than a brother. One whose arms are much greater, much wider and they are available 24 hours, 365 days. Wrapped in God’s arms is the greatest experience. To be in his presence, just him and I there is nothing like it.

Whenever you feel in need of a friend, and there is no one available, remember God is always available, whenever and wherever you need. Your Ultimate Super Friend.
